LAKE COEUR D’ALENE, ID

Perched above tranquil Rockford Bay on Lake Coeur D’Alene, this house was derived from the site upon which it borrows. Building upon the owner’s excitement around a series of trails on site, the building is designed around a trail to run through through the structure, utilizing an axial program arrangement that offers focused forest views to one side and broad lake views on the other.

An expansive glazed volume is flanked by two solid volumes that carefully step to follow the site’s contours. Boardformed concrete anchors the entry through which one must navigate a rock garden before outdoor seamlessy melds to indoor. Carefully composed textures and details allow the house to be at one with it’s natural setting.

The project is scheduled to start construction Spring 2023.
